How do I rent a dress?

It’s as simple as rent, return and refund. Please see how it works for the detail


When should I place an order?

As soon as possible, your big day is already stressful enough so let us help you take care of the bridesmaid dresses.    

New dresses are made to order and will take at least 10 weeks to make.  Pre-loved dresses must be ordered at least a month before the wedding day. Please remember that we have a limited number of pre-loved dresses available so if you are considering this option, and we will personally work through your options with you. How do I decide between a new and a pre-loved dress?

First step is to find out if there are pre-loved dresses available in the colour and styles of your choice. Contact us here or on celebrate@simplyborrowed.com.au.

After which, this is totally a personal preference!  Pre-loved dresses are $100 less than a new dress, it will only be in circulation for a maximum of 5 times, after which they will be donated.  We all expect to wear our clothing many more times than this so be assured, a pre-loved dress will be in great condition.


How much is shipping?

Shipping is $15 flat Australia-wide via courier.  Each order will be provided with a tracking number. We strongly advise nominating a delivery address where you can be available to receive the dresses during the business hours. If you are all living in the same city, it may be worth sending to one person for convenience.

My dresses arrived slightly crinkled, how can I iron them?

Please do not try to iron your dresses with a standard ironing board and iron. Dresses are made of a synthetic chiffon fabric which will get damaged under high heat. We recommend hanging the dresses up in your bathroom, fill up the room with steam as you would do with a hot shower and the crinkles should even out. Or even better yet, use a garment steamer if you have one handy. Care instructions are available within each garment box.


Why should I return my dress?

The truth is, a bridesmaid dress is unlikely to get worn again! Returning your dress is just like selling your dress online, without the hassle of posting, re-posting and re-posting. We buy the dresses back for 50%

What happens if I return my dresses late?

If you wish to return a dress past the 30-day period, please email us at celebrate@simplyborrowed.com.au


Can I choose different styles and colours for my bridesmaids?

Absolutely! We love the idea of each bridesmaid choosing a style they’re most comfortable in; the trend of different colours in a similar tone is so in right now. Our fabrics are all soft chiffon, they fall the same and photograph well together. We think this is the most exciting aspect to Simply Borrowed bridesmaid dresses. Happy mixing n matching

Can I try on the dresses?

Sample boxes are available for $50.  We can send two dresses of your choice for a 48-hour rental period, cost includes shipping. The dresses may not be the colour you wish to order, but they will be in the chosen sizes and styles so bridesmaids can try them on for fit. Order a sample box here.

What sizes are catered for?

We stock sizes 6-18. If you need a dress outside of these sizes, please select the “custom size” option and a custom dress will be made exactly to your measurements!  Feel free to contact us or chat to us at celebrate@simplyborrowed.com.au to find out more.

Will the dresses be too long or short?

Floor length dresses are made for women between 150-178 cm tall.  If you’re shorter or taller than this, a better option is to consider the knee length dresses or to alter the dress.   If a dress is altered it will be excluded from our buy back guarantee.

How do I ensure the dress will fit?

What if the dress doesn’t fit?

Feel free to alter your dress if it doesn’t fit well.  As you can imagine, if a dress is altered we will not be able to provide a 50% buy-back guarantee. The dress is yours to keep.


What condition will the pre-loved dresses be in when I receive it?

We have strict quality controls and dresses won’t be rented out if we wouldn’t be happy using them at our own weddings! Pre-loved dresses will only be hired out a maximum of 5 times, after which they will be donated. We all expect to wear our clothing many more times than this so be assured, a pre-loved dress is professional dry cleaned and delivered in great condition.

What if I stain or damage the dress?

If the damage can’t be fixed by a professional dry cleaner, then we’re unable to buy it back. Any dresses shipped to us that are deemed to be of unsuitable condition may be returned to you at your cost.


What payment methods are accepted?

We accept Visa, MasterCard and PayPal. Your credit card is charged as soon as we receive your order. Your credit card will also be re-charged late fees if you’ve chosen not to send your dresses back the next business day after the wedding. A notification for this charge will be sent to you by SMS or email.


Can I make changes to my order?

We understand that sometimes, things change. You can make changes to your order more than three months prior to your wedding day. After this time, dresses may have been made to order and no changes will be accepted. Please contact us at orders@simplyborrowed.com.au for any change requests.

Can I cancel my order?

Same as above, we will allow cancellations if they’re done more than three months prior to your wedding day. Please follow the instructions on your order confirmation email to cancel.

Does Simply Borrowed have a physical shop?

No, we exist purely online, which helps us keep prices reasonable! We’ve provided free and detailed size guides to help with fit, however, if you’re still uncertain, you can order a Sample Box. Sample Boxes can be ordered here!
